CBBE itself and things like the Remodelled Armor mod work fine. Characters using a body generated in Bodystudio2 or a similar program that modifies sliders and/or introduces new modifiable areas won't get their bellies to do anything. The bad news is that the issue indeed seems to be with Bodystudio2, which is included in CBBE.
The new 'gat's belly' mesh as found in the Unified Patch doesn't work as only the regular/default belly mesh seems to be supported by redblue's mod.
